Jokowi, son and son-in-law fired by PDIP

SOLO – The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) today publicly and officially dismissed Joko Widodo (Jokowi), his son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and his son-in-law, Bobby Nasution as well as 27 other supporters of the party in question.
Local media reported that the decision letter regarding the dismissal was read by Chairman of the Honorary Division of the PDIP Central Leadership Council Komarudin Watubun. Published in Jakarta, the letter was dated December 14, 2024 and signed by President General Megawati Soekarnoputri and Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
Citing news portal Detik.com, Komarudin said he received direct instructions from the PDIP general head to announce the case.
“The DPP Party will announce the decision letter to dismiss Joko Widodo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Bobby Nasution as well as 27 other members.
“The decision prohibits them from carrying out activities and holding any position on behalf of the PDIP,” he was quoted as saying.
Previously, Jokowi, when met by the media, responded regarding the possibility of dismissal of himself and his family by the PDIP.
When asked if he did not belong to any political party, Jokowi briefly mentioned the issue of “personal parties.”
CNN Indonesia, among others, interpreted that Jokowi meant his personal desire to continue being involved in politics even though he did not represent any party.
Wednesday, December 4, Hasto Kristiyanto, met by reporters in South Jakarta, revealed a surprising fact regarding Jokowi's membership status. Hasto emphasized that Jokowi is no longer part of the PDIP.
