Highlighting the importance of water in Rajasthan, where severe droughts occur in many areas while in other areas river water flows unused into the sea, the Prime Minister stressed that the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had considered connecting the rivers to solve this problem and formed a special committee for it. The Prime Minister said the aim was to transfer excess water from rivers to drought-affected areas, thereby resolving flood and drought problems, and the Supreme Court also supported this vision, but Previous governments never sought to alleviate water problems, claiming that they instead fostered interstate water conflicts.

He alleged that the Congress party was encouraging interstate water disputes rather than resolving them. Rajasthan suffered a lot because of this community, its mothers and daughters did not suffer, its farmers did not suffer (instead of finding a solution, the Congress promoted water conflicts between the States. Rajasthan suffered a lot due to this bad policy (its mothers, sisters and farmers suffered).

He said the ERCP delay is evidence of Congressional intent. The manner in which Congress delayed the ERCP is also direct evidence of Congress's intentions. They speak loudly on behalf of farmers. But they don't do anything for farmers and don't let others do it, he said.

Comparing the BJP government with the Congress rule, PM Modi said his government believed in cooperation and solution in the face of opposition and obstacles, adding that his government had approved and expanded the ERCP. The Prime Minister said that as soon as the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan governments were formed last year, an agreement was reached on the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal link project, which would connect the Chambal river and its tributaries, including Parbati, Kalisindh, Kuno and Banas. , Banas, Ruparel, Gambhiri and Mej. Highlighting the benefits of the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal project, Modi said it would provide irrigation water and drinking water to 21 districts of Rajasthan while accelerating the development of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. On the occasion, the Prime Minister also mixed water from different rivers in a pot to symbolize the interconnectedness of rivers.

The foundation stone of the Isarda Link project was also laid on Tuesday, with PM Modi noting that an agreement has also been reached to bring water from Tajewala to Shekhawati, benefiting both Haryana and Rajasthan.

He recalled his efforts as Gujarat CM to bring Narmada water to various parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. He said that senior leaders of Rajasthan including Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Jaswant Singh appreciated his efforts which brought water to the districts of Rajasthan including Jalore, Barmer, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Hanumangarh.

The prime minister also attacked the Congress party over document leaks and job scams, saying it had become the identity of the previous government. He said the youth had suffered and the process of resolving the issues was now underway by the ruling government. Further, he said that the people of Rajasthan had to pay more for petrol and diesel than in other states, under the previous government and now the people have got relief in terms of prices.

On the occasion, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also shared his government's achievements in the last one year. Besides CM Sharma, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, Union Minister Jal Shakti CR Patil, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and others were also present on occasion.

Prime Minister Modi also said that the central government is constantly striving to improve the economic condition of villages and focusing on promoting all means of earning money there. The Prime Minister said that North India would benefit from direct connectivity to Kandla from the Jamnagar-Amritsar economic corridor. Rajasthan’s transport sector will benefit. Large warehouses will be built and new employment opportunities will be created, he said.

Thanking the previous Rajasthan governments led by Bhairon Singh Shekhawat for laying a strong foundation for development and then Vasundhara Raje for taking forward the legacy of good governance, Modi said the present government is now actively making efforts to further strengthen the legacy of good governance. He added that work undertaken over the past year shows the same impression.

The Prime Minister said more has been achieved in the last ten years than what previous governments achieved in the 5-6 decades after independence.

Talking about women empowerment, he said 10 million women, including thousands from Rajasthan, have joined self-help groups in the last decade. He also highlighted women-specific government schemes such as Lakhpati Didi scheme, Namo Drone Didi scheme and Bima Sakhi scheme.

The Prime Minister encouraged party activists to work towards water conservation and create awareness about it, saying the BJP is not only the largest political party but also a huge social movement.

Earlier, Modi had reached the meeting venue in an open jeep, flanked on his left by the CM and BJP state president Madan Rathore on his right. The vehicle was escorted by a group of women wearing “Kalash” on their heads.

Road accident leaves four BJP workers injured

Meanwhile, four BJP workers were injured when their SUV collided with a truck in Sawai Madhopur district on Tuesday, police said.

The accident took place while the four men were on their way to the Prime Minister's rally.

One of the seriously injured was rushed to a hospital in Jaipur while the others are being treated in Sawai Madhopur, police said.
