Imran Khan threatens to stop remittances if demands remain unmet

PTI founder Imran Khan calls for judicial probe and release of arrested workers; cites the economic difficulties faced by Pakistanis.

Rawalpindi [Pakistan]December 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has issued a warning, threatening to call for a halt to remittances to Pakistan if his demands are not met. Imran Khan's main demands include the formation of a three-judge Supreme Court judicial commission to probe the incidents of May 9 and November 26, and the release of innocent PTI workers currently in detention.

Aleema Khan quoted the PTI leader as saying, “If these two demands are not met, I will soon call for a halt to remittances to Pakistan. » She further highlighted the economic hardships faced by ordinary Pakistanis, saying millions have fallen below the poverty line since the overthrow of Khan's government.

Aleema further announced that PTI leaders had named the D-Chowk area 'Shuhada Chowk', as a tribute to those affected by the political unrest.
