Imran advised to reduce tensions with army

ISLAMABAD: Jailed PTI founder president Imran Khan was on Monday asked to lower the temperature on the army and its high command.

Fawad Chaudhry, who met Khan in Adiala jail on Monday, said he told Imran Khan that he and the PTI should focus on issues rather than people and ease tensions with the army and his higher command to get a fair space in politics.

Speaking to The News, Chaudhry said he had also asked Imran Khan to bring back control of his X account (formerly Twitter) to Pakistan from abroad to ease tensions between the party and the establishment . Imran Khan's X account is being used to attack the military establishment, including the army chief. Like Chaudhry, many senior PTI leaders also want to control such aggressive use of Imran Khan's X account as well as anti-army campaigns on PTI's social media. However, they do not express their opinion in public for fear of backlash from PTI social media and also do not dare to put pressure on Imran Khan to stop attacking the army and its top command.
