Pak court reserves verdict in Al-Qadir case against Imran Khan, his wife, worth £190 million

A Pakistani court on Wednesday reserved judgment in the Al-Qadir Trust case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, worth 190 million pounds.

Justice Nasir Javed Rana of the anti-corruption court heard the case and reserved the judgment, which he will announce on December 23, Geo News reported.

The case ended after the prosecution and defense attorneys finished their arguments.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed cases in December 2023 against Khan (72), Bibi (50) and six others, accusing them of causing a loss of 190 million pounds (50 billion rupees) for the national prize pool.

However, Khan and Bibi were prosecuted because everyone else, including a property tycoon, was abroad.

Khan and Bibi are both accused in the case, which revolves around allegations that PRs 50 billion, returned to Pakistan by the UK's National Crime Agency in a deal with a real estate tycoon , would have been misused.

The funds were allegedly intended for the national treasury but were redirected for the personal benefit of the businessman who helped Bibi and Khan establish a university.

Bibi, as trustee of the Al-Qadir Trust, is accused of benefiting from this settlement, including by acquiring 458 kanals of land for Al-Qadir University in Jhelum.
