The dismissal letter was signed by PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and PDI-P Secretary General (Sekjen) Hasto Kristiyanto on December 14, 2024 before being announced by PDI-P DPP Honorary Chairman P, Komarudin Watubun.

In the letter, he explains why PDIP fired Jokowi. It was stated that Jokowi was fired because he was seen as abusing power and destroying the democratic order.
