Golkar did not offer Jokowi to join after being fired by PDIP: does not want to push

Golkar Party Secretary General Sarmuji admitted that he did not propose to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to join. Sarmuji said his party did not want to put pressure on Jokowi.
“As for the offer to become a member, we haven't done it yet. Why? Because we believe that Mr. Jokowi is currently considering a lot of things,” said Sarmuji of the Golkar DPP, West Jakarta, Thursday (19 /12/2024).
Sarmuji suspects that Jokowi is currently thinking about the best things for the future. Sarmuji admitted that he did not want to bother Jokowi first.

“We don't want to disturb Pak Jokowi who is thinking about a lot of things. So our communication is good, but we do not want to give the impression that we are urging him to immediately join the Golkar party,” he said.
Despite everything, he said, political communication with Jokowi did not encounter any obstacles. He said communication with Jokowi had gone well so far.
Previously, Jokowi admitted to communicating with Golkar. However, this communication was not related to the fact that he was an honorary member of the Golkar party.
“The communication is there, but not yet (becoming an honorary member of Golkar),” Jokowi said when meeting at his private residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, as reported by detikJatengMonday (9/12).
When asked about his plans to rejoin the party after it is no longer considered part of the PDIP family, Jokowi admitted that he does not have any yet. Including Golkar and Gerindra, who were open to him.
“(He is considering joining the party) not yet. (Golkar) not yet,” he said.
