Trump administration unlikely to take action on Imran Khan

Hamid Khan, senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Thursday that Donald Trump's administration was unlikely to take any action for Imran Khan.

Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV's flagship program, 'Nadeem Malik Live', Khan said, “The US does not interfere in the affairs of any other country unless it has its own interests .”

Regarding the negotiations, Khan said: “As of now, there are no developments regarding negotiations with the government. »

Talking about reserved seats, Khan said, “The Supreme Court verdict of July 12 should be implemented regarding issues related to reserved seats.

“The government has not taken any action to resolve the problems. Back channel issues cannot be successful. Issues must be resolved openly,” Khan said.

“No one cares about Faisal Chaudhry’s statement. I don’t know who he is,” Khan said.

PTI leader Nisar Jutt said, “PTI believes in negotiation. All political parties complained of fraud during the legislative elections.”

“The PTI founder has mandated a five-member negotiating committee,” Jutt said.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said, “The parliamentary committee should be constituted for the talks. PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khurram Dastgir can play a central role in the negotiations.

For his part, senior leader of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Qamar Zaman Kaira, stressed the need to move the negotiations forward.

“The government must now move forward on issues related to holding the talks. The cases must move forward apart from the events which occurred on May 9 and November 26 respectively.

He said: “Making statements about civil disobedience is like embracing treason. Both parties [government, opposition] should sit down together with open hearts. At the same time, President Asif Ali Zardari will welcome negotiations between the government and the opposition.”

“Advocate Gohar Ali Khan highlighted the positive aspect that no conditions should be imposed on the talks. However, lawyer Ali Zafar raised certain conditions for holding negotiations with the government following his meeting with the PTI founder,” Kaira said.
