PM Modi attends Christmas celebrations at Union Minister's house.
New Delhi, Dec 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended Christmas celebrations at the residence of Union Minister George Kurian and interacted with prominent members of the Christian community, highlighting the spirit of cultural inclusiveness and celebration.
The event provided a platform for Prime Minister Modi to engage with prominent figures from the Christian community, thereby reinforcing the government's commitment to fostering strong ties with this religious group.

Earlier on June 9, Kerala BJP unit general secretary George Kurian was inducted as Union minister in the third Narendra Modi government.
Hailing from Kottayam in Kerala, Kurian is a no-nonsense BJP leader and is known for his soft-spoken style and for being a popular BJP representative on television news channels.
He began his political life as a student activist in the student wing of the Janata Party in 1977, and in 1980 he joined the BJP and has been a part of it ever since.
In 2017, Kurian was appointed vice-chairman of the Commission on National Minorities.
Although based in Kottayam, he worked in Delhi, as an officer on special duty to the then Minister of State for Railways, O. Rajagopal, in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government from 1999 to 2004.
Kurian's ministerial position is seen as a way to address the Christian community.
