Koneru Humpy is one of the highest rated female chess players in India and she finished the tournament with 8.5/11. Earlier, she won her first gold medal during the 2019 edition in Moscow.
Koneru became the only player to claim victory in a seven-way tie at the top early in the final. She chose to play with the black pieces, and she dominated Indonesian international master Irine Kharisma Sukandar in the final match and won the title.
