Nawaz, Zardari and Imran can resolve 70-year-old crisis in 70 days: Sana

Prime Minister's Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah suggested talks between leaders of major parties, saying if Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and Imran Khan sit together, Pakistan's 70-year-old crisis could be resolved resolved in just 70 days.

Speaking at a ceremony, he stressed that the two negotiating committees of the main political parties are following the advice of these leaders, suggesting that their direct involvement could bring quicker solutions.

On the other hand, Khawaja Saad Rafique, addressing a conference, blamed the current crisis in Pakistan on three types of remote-controlled democracy.

He identified military control, politicians-turned-kings and a few judges making crucial decisions behind closed doors as the main factors destabilizing the country.

Rafique argued that it is not sustainable for politicians to remain passive while former army chiefs continue to exert influence over the country's affairs.

In a separate statement, President Ayaz Sadiq responded to the opposition's concerns, saying there should be no restrictions on opposition members speaking in the National Assembly.

He urged them to focus on their own problems and those of the people.
