Joko Widodo entered the finalist list of the world's most corrupt leaders by OCCRP

Lintaskepri.com, Tanjungpinang – Indonesia's 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is on the finalist list of the world's most corrupt leaders according to a report by the non-governmental organization Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

The report titled “Corrupt Person of the Year 2024” was released on Tuesday (12/31/2024), and Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad was named “Corruptor of the Year”.

In the report, Jokowi was mentioned alongside other world figures including Kenyan President William Ruto, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian businessman Gautam Adani.

“We are soliciting nominations from readers, journalists, Person of the Year judges and other members of the OCCRP global network,” the agency wrote in its statement.

The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is one of the world's largest investigative journalism organizations, headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
