Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of seven key infrastructure projects in Delhi on Friday.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory on Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects in the national capital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit newly constructed apartments for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters under the in-situ slum rehabilitation project at Swabhiman Apartments, Ashok Vihar, Delhi, around 12:10 p.m. Modi will also inaugurate two urban redevelopment projects: the World Trade Center (WTC) in Nauroji Nagar and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type II Quarters in Sarojini Nagar.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the newly constructed 1,675 apartments for residents of JJ clusters and will also hand over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi is expected to address a public rally at Ramleela Ground in northwest Delhi, marking the start of his campaign for the upcoming assembly elections. The Election Commission has not yet announced the election dates. Modi's second rally is scheduled to take place on January 5 at Rohini Japan Park.

As part of the advisory, Delhi Police highlighted the movement restrictions in place due to a VVIP visit to northwest Delhi. He mentioned:

• Traffic is expected to be heavy on some roads.
• Restrictions, including closures or regulated travel, will be applied on designated routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid inconvenience to the public.

Traffic restrictions on these routes

1. Mall Road (Ring Road): Red light from Hakikat Nagar to Azadpur Chowk (both sides).
2. GTK Route: Azadpur Chowk to Gurudwara Nanak Pio.
3. Bhamashah Marg: Model Town-1 in Nanak Pio.
4. Lala Achhintam Marg and Brahma Kumari Marg: Gujranwala and Derawal regions.
5. Nahar Singh Marg: Prembari Chowk to Inderlok Metro Station (both sides).
6. Gulab Singh Marg: From Satyawati College to Prerna Chowk.
7. Swami Narayan Marg: Delhi Jal boards Red Light to go to Laxmi Bai College.
8. Mahatma Gandhi Marg: Britannia Chowk in Azadpur.

Date and time of restrictions

The Delhi Traffic Police advisory states that traffic restrictions will be in force from 9 am to 4 pm on January 3.

Residents traveling to areas such as Azadpur, Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Gujranwala Town, Derawal Nagar, Swabhiman Apartment and Ramleela Ground in Ashok Vihar are advised to plan their travel accordingly and allow extra time for their journey.

The advisory further asked motorists and the general public to remain patient, follow traffic rules and obey the instructions of traffic personnel stationed at major intersections. Commuters are encouraged to stay informed about traffic conditions through official Delhi Traffic Police channels.
