ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Omar Ayub has underlined the party's clear stand on key issues including the release of founding President Imran Khan and other detainees, as well as the creation of two commissions. .

Addressing the media outside a district court, Ayub said PTI's position for negotiations revolved around the release of its leaders and investigations into the May 9 and November 26 incidents.

He added that the government must allow PTI representatives to meet Imran Khan, who he said is being detained illegally.

He also criticized the administration, citing shortages of food grains and persistent power outages during winter as indicators of mismanagement.

Earlier, the district sessions court had extended Ayub's interim bail till January 9 in a case related to the November 26 protest at D-Chowk.

The extension was granted due to the absence of the investigator, who was on leave. Ayub appeared in court alongside his lawyer, Babar Awan.

The second round of talks between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government has begun, with the opposition party presenting two of its main demands, namely the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events May 9 and November 26. , as well as the release of all political prisoners, including the party's founding president, Imran Khan.
