China has sanctioned dozens of American arms manufacturers, amid an escalation of the trade war between the United States and China before Donald Trump takes office. On Thursday, China announced that it had added 28 American companies to an export control list and banned ten other American companies from doing business in China, alleging they had been involved in arms sales to Taiwan . Among the companies affected are General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered his annual New Year speech on Tuesday, saying his country's economy remained on track to grow 5% this year, despite Trump's threats to escalate the interstate trade war -United States and China.
