Taiwan's government says China is stepping up efforts to undermine trust in the self-ruled island's democracy and its close ties to the United States by spreading disinformation, particularly online.
The National Security Bureau said the number of false or biased information distributed by China increased by 60% last year, from 1.33 million in 2023 to 2.16 million.
