KOMPAS.com – Former President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that he already knows who the candidate is to replace Shin Tae-yong as coach of the Indonesian national team (timnas) .
Jokowi expressed this while responding to the dismissal of Shin Tae-yong, who served as coach of the Indonesian national team for four years.

According to Jokowi, the decision to fire Shin Tae-yong was the result of a thorough evaluation conducted by PSSI.
“No (surprised). “Yes, the first is that coach Shin Tae-yong has been there for four years, then there was a decision from the PSSI, which I think was carefully considered,” Jokowi said during a meeting in Solo, in Central Java.
Jokowi added that performance evaluations of Shin Tae-yong were conducted every year during his tenure as national team coach.
Who is the new coach of the Indonesian national team?
Even though he already knows the name of the future coach, Jokowi chose not to reveal the identity of Shin Tae-yong's replacement to the public.
“Yes, I joined PSSI and prepared myself, I see (Shin Tae-yong's replacement) was prepared, I know, but I don't need to tell you,” he said. he declared.
Jokowi confirmed that the name of the new coach will be officially announced by PSSI in the near future.
The 7th President of Indonesia revealed that the public will only have to wait a few days to find out who the new coach of the Indonesian national team is.
“We will all know later, in a day or two it will be officially announced by the PSSI,” he added.
There is no disappointment with the PSSI decision
Jokowi also stressed that he was not disappointed with the PSSI's decision to end its cooperation with Shin Tae-yong.
“It's PSSI's decision (it won't disappoint), happy or not, I'm happy with Coach Shin, if you ask me if I'm happy or not, I'm happy,” he said laughing.
According to him, this decision is the result of an evaluation carried out by PSSI as the highest authority in Indonesian football.
“But again, I think PSSI needs to take into account certain things when evaluating each of our national team coaches,” he said.

Jokowi also gave his views on Shin Tae-yong's personality while he was coach.
He said Shin Tae-yong was a person who had an open outlook and was easy to interact with.
“Yes, I am close to Coach Shin, I think his personality is open and easy to interact with,” Jokowi said, speaking about his closeness to Shin Tae-yong.
