Kurdish Prime Minister Barzani with Erdogan in Türkiye: the situation in Syria on the table

Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, Kurdistan Region (KRI) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, as part of his official visit to Turkey.
According to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the KRI and Turkey, as well as the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region, particularly the situation in Syria.
Both sides stressed the need to resolve outstanding issues between the KRI and the federal government on the basis of the Constitution and remove obstacles hindering the export of KRI oil.
After meeting Barzani, Erdogan said, according to Turkish media: “There is no place for terrorist organizations in the future of the new Syria. We are working to prevent recent developments from destabilizing the region. »
Ankara attaches great importance to preserving Iraq's stability and security, especially in light of current developments in Syria, he added.
Turning to the economic aspect, the Turkish president highlighted the need to implement projects aimed at strengthening the stability and prosperity of the region, including the Logistics Development Road project, which will connect Europe and the Gulf and will create 100,000 jobs in its first phase.
