Talks between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led coalition and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hit a roadblock on Tuesday after the opposition negotiating team was denied access to PTI founder Imran Khan, according to PTI.

“This leads to delays as the PTI cannot give anything in writing without meeting Imran Khan,” Akram said. “We need access to our leader during the negotiation process.” Replying to a question, Sheikh said the PTI did not speak directly to the government for granting access, but rather the party contacted the President's office, which spoke to the government.

“The facilitation comes from the president's office; we do not deal directly with the government on these issues,” Akram said. Meanwhile, lawyer Gohar said the party's call for civil disobedience and curbing remittances from overseas Pakistanis was still intact. He clarified that the negotiations were not aimed at reaching an agreement but were aimed at the people, stressing that no delay should occur in the negotiations.

Omar Ayub reiterated the demand for a meeting with the PTI founder, pointing out that there had been no response from the government. He expressed dissatisfaction with the government's failure to facilitate a meeting without conditions.
