Prime Minister's Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has indicated the possibility of relocating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan due to security or health concerns.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, the senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) explained that the decision to conduct Khan's trial in the jail premises was also taken to ensure his safety.

“If he is brought to the complex where the anti-terrorism courts or the high courts are located, it could be very dangerous,” stressed the PML-N leader, explaining that this is why no one opposed his trial in prison.

He noted that arrangements could be made for special arrangements, in the event of safety or health concerns. “However, nothing like this has been discussed so far,” Sanaullah added.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur confirmed Sanaullah's statement regarding the meeting of the negotiation committee with the PTI founder.

Gandapur said the meeting was delayed because National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq was out of the country. Now that Sadiq is back, a meeting between Khan and the government negotiating committee is expected soon.

He also mentioned that one-on-one meetings with the PTI founder are underway.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat advised the government and the PTI to exercise restraint, warning that inflammatory statements could jeopardize the negotiation process.

He stressed that if the committee is unable to meet Khan, it should still meet to maintain the momentum of the talks.

After months of political tug-of-war, the coalition government and the embattled PTI finally came to the table last month to defuse tensions, with the Khan-founded party initially putting forward two initial demands: the release of all “political prisoners “. and a judicial inquiry into the events of May 9 and November 26.
