A couple in the UK turned their love for second-hand goods into a thrift store wedding.
Nina and Stefan Pope, who have been furnishing their home for nearly 20 years with second-hand items found at local thrift stores, decided to get married at one of their favorite places, a thrift store outside Manchester , in England, according to CBS News.
The couple said, according to the outlet, that getting married at the store started as a joke between the two when they started dating due to their love of searching for second-hand items. However, when the time came for them to walk down the aisle, they decided to make that dream come true.
They enlisted the help of their thrift store owner friend to help them bring their wedding vision to life and transform the space into a wedding celebration. While contemplating marriage, their friend said, the ideas just started coming.
They used the pillars inside the store as a focal point and added donated rugs to form the makeshift aisle. Additional wedding decorations including lanterns, drums and golden banners were hung to brighten up the place.
However, it wasn't just the space that echoed their love for second-hand items, but also the items they used for the wedding. The couple's 150 guests sat in donated chairs during the ceremony.
They were church pews that we had that had been donated just a week before, so it was a coincidence, Stefan recalls.

The couple said, according to CBS News, that everything turned out exactly as they had imagined. Nina remembers being in awe the moment she finally walked down the aisle to her future husband in a second-hand dress (while he wore a second-hand suit).

Following the theme, the couple also sealed the deal with gold rings from the thrift store.
The entire wedding ended up costing the couple around $250, according to CBS News. And that was only because I thought we should eat a little, Nina said.
Their family and friends even baked the couple's cakes, which were served on used china plates from the flea market. Nina remembers: “We must have eaten 15 wedding cakes.
It was just lovely because everyone feels festive, Stefan added.
