Prime Minister Narendra Modi said people misunderstand the meaning of 'minimum government, maximum governance'. He said efforts should be aimed at accelerating the work done by government departments and that is why he created different ministries for skills, cooperatives and fisheries.
Speaking in a podcast with Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, released on Friday, PM Modi said the government has removed 40,000 compliances to speed up work in different departments.
“We often misunderstand the concept of minimum government, maximum governance. Some people think that minimum government means fewer ministers and fewer employees. However, this is not my interpretation.
