PM Modi aims to make India an electronics manufacturing hub: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Chennai: Union Minister for Railways, Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday said he is very happy to be part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's grand vision to make India a hub of electronics manufacturing.
Inaugurating a laptop assembly line of Syrma SGS Technology Ltd and MSI here, the minister said the factory gave him immense joy, especially seeing the young women working on the assembly line. “The satisfaction they get from working on these high-tech machines, the training they have received and the focus with which they work are inspiring. Many of them come from neighboring villages and it was encouraging to see their talent,” the minister told reporters.
Syrma SGS, a leading electronic systems design and manufacturing company, has collaborated with MSI, a global leader in PC and AI gaming, as its manufacturing partner in India to produce laptops for the domestic market. Through this strategic collaboration, Syrma SGS will assemble laptops for MSI at its state-of-the-art facilities in Chennai.
According to John Hung, Managing Director India NB at MSI, India has always been a key market for MSI and “as we continue to expand our presence here, it is important that our products remain globally competitive while being produced locally.
This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to innovation, quality and strengthening the Indian manufacturing ecosystem. We are excited to provide high-tech products to our customers and contribute to the growth of the Indian economy, Hung said.
