Building from the village, from below for equitable development

Villages are the largest and closest government element to the community in maintaining the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). The important role of villages is also supported by Law Number 6 of 2014 regarding villages.
As the “border guard” of national development, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), by Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2024, established the Falling Village Day every January 15.
Village Day is a drive to build understanding and awareness among the community and all stakeholders to make villages the subject of development, centers of regional growth and culture, and villages the focal point of development.

This is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's 6th Asta Cita, namely “Developing from the village and the bottom up for economic equality and poverty eradication”, which aims to increase awareness of importance of village development.
The government, through the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Areas Development of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendes PDT), is organizing the first “Village Day Commemoration”. This event was held at Cisaat Village Field, Ciater District, Subang Regency, West Java on January 14-15, 2025.
Later, the event will bring together Village PDT Minister Yandri Susanto, Village PDT Deputy Minister Ahmad Riza Patria, and several ministers/heads of Prabowo-Gibran cabinet institutions, as well as a number of regional heads, from religious figures and the local community. Apart from this, this event was also attended by thousands of village and community leaders who also hosted the Village Day event.
Besides Wayang Golek, don't miss the excitement of other events such as cultural arts performances, Bumdes exhibition, food security movement, popular sports competitions, Ruwatan village, Ngariung with residents, shows Wayang Golek and others. It is the first Village Day and was established on January 15 based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2024 regarding Village Day.
At the top of the event, there was also the launch of the Building an Indonesian Village festival, the launch of a competition guide, the launch of a guide for young village pioneers, as well as a movement for food security in the village by planting rice and corn. Through this event, it is hoped that the enthusiasm for village building can be maintained.
