Visit to Banjarnegara escorted by hundreds of police, Jokowi accused of abusing state facilities
JAKARTA, Mediakarya – Former President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi has been accused of misusing state facilities for personal gain, even though he is no longer head of state.
One of them took place when Jokowi paid a “working visit” to Banjarnegara, Central Java, which involved the security of nearly 200 police officers.
Political analyst Rocky Gerung said Mulyono alias Jokowi's visit was no longer relevant to his status as president.
“Working visits are usually aimed at evaluating state policies, but this time it seems ridiculous because Jokowi is no longer in office,” Ricky said recently.
Rocky believes that even though he resigned, Jokowi is still linked to politics because of various things still attached to him, such as information or “state secrets.”
Rocky revealed that Jokowi's activities were more part of an effort to maintain his image among the public.
According to Rocky, these visits are part of a political communication strategy aimed at maintaining its existence in society.
In fact, Rocky also believes that this action is linked to supporting the political career of his son, Gibran Rakabuming, who now serves as vice president.
Furthermore, Rocky views Jokowi's actions as a form of “corruption” that is destroying the democratic system.
“Corruption here does not mean stealing money, but rather destroying the existing ethical and democratic system,” he said.
