Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated the Experimental Archaeological Museum, Prerna Complex and Sports Complex in Vadnagar, Gujarat, according to an official statement from the Home Ministry.

Amit Shah also chaired the heritage complex development plan, urban road development and beautification program in Vadnagar. On this occasion, a film on the journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also broadcast.

In his speech, Shah said that today the whole world is following the footsteps of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and this program is also happening in the birthplace of Modi Ji.

He said that today's program is significant in many ways as it will put Vadnagar prominently on the map of the country and the world. He further said that Vadnagar is one of the oldest cities in the world which due to its continuity and dynamism has influenced the culture and traditions of every era. He said Vadnagar's journey spans thousands of years and evidence suggests it is more than 2,500 years old, according to the ministry.

Amit Shah said that people must visit this archaeological museum and excavation complex because there is no other museum in the world where history and excavation coexist in such a unique way.

Shah said this museum, built at a cost of around Rs 300 crore as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has not only put Vadnagar but also the culture of Gujarat and the entire country on the world map. He said the builders of the museum have brought to life the more than 2,500-year-old Vadnagar journey in the museum building and at the excavation site. Shah added that this museum not only showcases the antiquity of Vadnagar but also showcases the contributions of its culture, commerce, urban planning, education and governance during various periods of its history, adds the press release.

The Union Home Minister said that today the Prerna Complex was also officially inaugurated and the school where Prime Minister Modi did his primary education is now welcoming children from across the country to learn and walk the path he showed.

He said that this Prerna Sankul will, in future, contribute to the creation of many such remarkable individuals. Shah also mentioned the inauguration of the sports complex today. He added that Prime Minister Modi has set a target that the 2036 Olympics will be held in Ahmedabad and by then the children of Vadnagar will be ready to participate in these games, the statement said.

Amit Shah said that the culture and history of Vadnagar is very ancient and here the eternal ascetics engaged in various forms of penance, meditation and pursuit of knowledge.

He mentioned that Jain ascetics created many Jain Agamas-Nigamas and practiced austerities here. He also said that the first public reading of the Jain Kalpasutra scripture, which was traditionally read only by ascetics, is believed to have taken place here. He added that this place was also a Buddhist monastery and many Buddhist monks came here to quench their thirst for knowledge. He pointed out that this place has been a center of worship of three major religions and the entire journey of Vadnagar from Skanda Purana to Chamatkarpur, Anartpur, Anandpur and Vadnagar is depicted in this museum with illustrations, he pointed out. added.

Shah said the Panch Pran Pledge proposed by Prime Minister Modi, which incorporates, among other things, pride in our heritage, is part of his vision for the nation.
