PM Modi to launch Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the 2nd edition which will see over 100 automobile launches

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (January 17, 2025) inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, India's largest mobility exhibition, which is expected to see over 100 new launches in automobiles, components and technologies.
Prime Minister Modi recalls the legacy of late Osamu Suzuki, former Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, and late Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Son. He says their legacy will inspire the Indian mobility sector.
Several factors will drive the growth of the country's automobile sector. These include the country's large population, growing middle class, rapid urbanization, infrastructure development and vehicle manufacturing in India. Prime Minister Modi said.
He said: “Growth in vehicle demand is also driven by government infrastructure spending. Last year, the government set aside ₹11 lakh crore for infrastructure spending. Today there is a network of highways and expressways.

The five-day expo is being held at three venues: Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in the national capital and India Expo Center and Mart, Greater Noida.
Prime Minister Gati Shakti is also giving impetus to multi-modal connectivity. This will reduce logistics costs and India will become the most competitive country in terms of logistics costs. This opens multiple doors for the automobile sector, PM Modi said.

Highlighting the need for mobility solutions, Mr. Modi said: Our mobility solutions should have 7 Cs: Common, Connected, Convenient, Clutter-free, Paid, Clean or Avant-garde.
To reduce fossil fuel import bills, we are focusing on developing technologies for electric vehicles, hydrogen and biofuels. This vision includes the National Electric Mobility Mission and the Green Hydrogen Mission, Prime Minister Modi said.
Talking about the growth in sales of electric vehicles in the country, Mr. Modi said: Over the last decade, their sales have seen a growth of 640%. Ten years ago, the annual sales of electric vehicles stood at 2,600. By 2024, there will be over 16.8 lakh sales of electric vehicles. This means we see twice as many sales in a single day than we see every year.
By the end of the decade, sales of electric vehicles are expected to increase eightfold, he says. The automotive industry is focused on innovation and technology. Whether it is innovation, technology, skills or demand, the future belongs to the East, Asia and India, he added.
Mr. Modi inaugurated the Expo at Bharat Mandapam in the presence of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, HD Kumaraswamy, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Manohar Lal, Piyush Goyal and Hardeep Singh Puri, along with auto sector executives.
It will have 5,100 international participants and is expected to attract over 5 lakh visitors from around the world. In total, more than 40 new product launches are expected at this main attraction of Bharat Mobility Global Expo, 2025. More than 60 new product and technology launches are expected at the components show.
