Xi Jinping and Donald Trump discuss the future of China-US relations
Xi congratulated Trump on his re-election and expressed willingness to work together to achieve significant progress in bilateral relations.
Both agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation between China and the United States, seeking mutual benefit and common prosperity of their peoples and the whole world. The Asian president stressed that as two major powers, China and the United States face common challenges and opportunities, which require mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and cooperation based on shared gains. .

China recently assured that its ties with the United States had remained generally stable during the four years of President Joe Biden's mandate, despite ups and downs.
