Acceleration of banking investments in IKN: the IKN authority strengthens its collaboration with investors
PORTALBALIKPAPAN.COM, IKN – The Archipelago Capital Authority (IKN) is increasingly accelerating investments in the banking sector to support the development of the archipelago capital.
On Friday (01/17/2024), the IKN Authority held a meeting with a number of major Indonesian banks, such as Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Bankaltimtara, Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) and Bank of Central Asia (BCA).
This meeting focused on accelerating the construction of banking service offices expected to operate in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP), Nusantara.
The presence of these banking services is considered important to meet the needs of residents who will migrate to IKN, as well as to complement the economic ecosystem of this future city.
The goal is for the KIPP Banking Services Office to begin operating in the first quarter of 2026, providing fast and efficient services based on community needs.
The head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, highlighted the readiness of IKN facilities and infrastructure.
“We have prepared the facilities and infrastructure in the archipelago capital. “Mr. President of the Republic of Indonesia gave instructions to carry out executive, legislative and judicial activities in the archipelago capital in 2028 From January 2025, we will map the locations to start road construction,” he said.
At the G20 international forum, the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, Basuki explained, also highlighted the government's commitment to moving the national capital.
Jakarta's status as a Special Capital Region (DKI) was changed to a Special Region (DK) by the DPR, while construction of the State Mosque in IKN will begin in 2025.
The Minister of Public Works (PU) confirmed that the President will take office at IKN on August 17, 2028, marking the start of Indonesia's new central government.
It is hoped that this step to accelerate the development of banking services can create an inclusive economic ecosystem and encourage the development of IKN as a modern city.
The IKN Authority is optimistic that collaboration with various parties will accelerate the realization of investments and create a solid economic foundation for the Indonesian capital. (pr/ih)
