New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi felicity Donald Trump on the occasion of his historic inauguration as the 47th President of the United States. Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, marking his remarkable return to power for a second term.

In his message, Prime Minister Modi said he looks forward to working closely together again, for the benefit of both countries and to shape a better future for the world. He mentioned Trump as his dear friend.

“Congratulations, my dear friend President Donald Trump, on your historic inauguration as the 47th President of the United States!” PM Modi published on X.

“I look forward to working closely together again, for the benefit of both our countries and to shape a better future for the world. Best wishes for a successful term ahead!” he added.

Donald Trump became the 47th president of the United States on Monday. Shortly after taking office, Trump signed an initial series of executive orders aimed at asserting control of the federal workforce and withdrawing from the Paris climate treaty, among other things, to end a series of decrees adopted by the previous administration of Joe Biden.

Among the executive orders Trump signed in grand fashion in front of a cheering crowd was one requiring federal workers to return to their offices five days a week.

Trump, the 78-year-old leader of the Republican Party, has promised to put America first. “America’s golden age begins now,” he said in his inaugural address. “From this day on, our country will prosper and be respected around the world again. We will be the envy of all nations and we will no longer allow ourselves to be exploited,” he said.
