Islamabad [Pakistan]January 20 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has urged Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to keep national interest supreme in the ongoing Pakistan Tehreek talks- e-Insaf (PTI), The Express reported the Tribune. According to the statement issued by PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif briefed Nawaz Sharif about the talks with the PTI and other important issues including the current political and economic situation in the country. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also attended the meeting which took place at Jati Umra and lasted for two hours. During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif stressed the need for national unity in the current circumstances. Senior PML-N leaders were informed that the government's efforts to address Pakistan's economic woes had borne fruit and inflation had seen a significant decline. The statement issued by the PML-N said: “The meeting was informed that the situation is moving in a positive direction.” According to the statement, Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the government to reduce inflation and provide relief to the people, The Express Tribune reported. “The PML-N government will continue to serve the people,” Nawaz Sharif said in the meeting, according to the statement. The demands presented by the PTI to the government during the third round of dialogue held last week were also considered in the meeting, the statement said. Shehbaz Sharif briefed party leaders on the current status of ongoing negotiations between the government and the party founded by Imran Khan, The Express Tribune reported. On January 16, the PTI formally submitted its “charter of demands” to the government in the third round of negotiations between the two sides, Dawn reported. Negotiations between the government and the PTI began in December in a bid to ease political tensions. However, significant progress is yet to be made on crucial issues, including the establishment of a judicial commission and the release of PTI members detained in political cases.
The meeting took place under the supervision of the President of the National Assembly and brought together six representatives of the opposition, including three leaders of the PTI, and eight from the government. The opposition was represented by Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, PTI MP Asad Qaiser, Sunni Ittehad Council leader Hamid Raza, Senator in head of Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri and PTI general secretary Salman Akram Raja. During the meeting, the government side was represented by the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan. Ishaq Dar, PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui, PPP MPs Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Naveed Qamar, Prime Minister's aide Rana Sanaullah and MQM-P MP Farooq Sattar. During the meeting, the PTI presented a three-page document detailing its demands, signed by the six opposition MPs present. These demands include two main goals: the formation of judicial commissions and government cooperation in facilitating legal aid to political prisoners. The PTI specifically called for the establishment of two judicial commissions under the Commission of Inquiry Act, 2017, each headed by either the Chief Justice of Pakistan or three sitting judges of the Supreme Court, agreed to a mutual agreement by the government and the opposition. The PTI further asserted that the creation of these commissions was essential to demonstrate the government's commitment to addressing their concerns. The party said: “We will not be able to continue negotiations if the two commissions we are seeking are not agreed in principle and constituted immediately,” Dawn reported. One of the commissions is expected to investigate the legality of the events surrounding the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan on May 9, 2023. The PTI has demanded a thorough investigation into the actions of law enforcement agencies during the arrest , the nationwide protests that followed, and the circumstances in which individuals targeted high-security locations. The party also demanded a review of media restrictions and internet shutdowns imposed by the government during the unrest, stressing the need for accountability. The second commission would investigate the crackdown on the PTI's “Final Call” protest in November in Islamabad, where tensions escalated after clashes between protesters and law enforcement. (ANI)

Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
