We will request a meeting on January 28 and present a detailed response to their demands, he said.
Earlier, the government and its allies met in Islamabad (Tuesday evening) and discussed the issue of the upcoming meeting with the PTI.
Sanaullah's remarks come as the fate of talks between the government and the PTI hangs in the balance over the issue of formation of judicial commissions.
The two sides began formal negotiations on December 23 last year to address the prevailing tension and political instability due to PTI protests over last year's election fraud allegations and the arrest of its workers and managers.
The PTI presented its charter of demands during the third round of talks held on January 16, giving the government seven days to set up two judicial commissions to probe the incidents of May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024.
This key demand has become a sticking point, as the government has yet to agree to form the commissions and Khan has asked his party to stop the talks if the key demand is not met.
Dawn newspaper reported that PTI chief Gohar Ali Khan told media outside Rawalpindis Adiala jail on Monday that Khan had ordered the negotiating team to withdraw from the talks if the judicial commission was not formed within seven days.
Gohar stressed that the establishment of the judicial commission was essential for meaningful dialogue, saying that if the government did not move forward with the formation of the commission, there was no point in continuing negotiations.
Gohar reportedly said there would be no fourth round of negotiations if the committees were not constituted. However, he added that the PTI team would wait seven days for a response from the government. Meanwhile, the government's negotiating committee was considering extending its seven-day deadline for another week to submit its response to the PTI's demands, said Senator Irfan Siddiqui, spokesperson for the government's negotiating committee.
Currently, the seven parties, included in the government committee, are consulting each other and seeking advice from their respective leaders, Senator Siddiqui wrote on Monday on X, adding that it may take another week for prepare the final response.
The spokesperson for the government commission also refuted reports that the ruling coalition had already prepared its response. He said there was no truth in the reports and all these stories were baseless.
Siddiquis' statement comes against the backdrop of several reports claiming that the government's response was ready and that the government had decided not to constitute a judicial commission on the May 9, 2023 incidents.
The reports further claimed that the government committee discussed the PTI's demands on the formation of judicial commissions and the release of political prisoners, including Imran Khan, and decided that the commission could not be formed on May 9.
There were several reasons for not granting this request, according to reports, including the fact that sensitive civilian and military installations had been attacked that day; the accused were already on trial; and several defendants had already been found guilty of the May 9 attacks.
Siddiqui, however, refuted all these claims saying that no decision had been taken on the PTI's demands.
Divergent views on the basic demand are pushing the two sides in opposite directions and the date for the fourth meeting has not yet been set.
The PTI had also earlier announced that it would conclude the negotiations by January 31, but the deadline is unlikely to be met due to the current differences. PTI SH GSP GSP
