Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches fresh attack on AAP, saying party has not kept any promises in Delhi
As campaigning heats up for the February 5 general elections in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying it had failed to deliver on any of its promises to during his 10-year reign in the nation's capital. .
“The AAP has failed to fulfill a single responsibilities in Delhi. They have continued to move forward with the belief that they can rule with lies. The people of Delhi have understood their game, they are fed up with lies and of the party's deception,” the Prime Minister said. ” said the minister while virtually addressing the BJP booth-goers in the city.
PM Modi also claimed that the ruling party was so afraid of losing the upcoming polls that it was announcing poll operations almost every day.
“First Congress and now AAP, the people of Delhi have been constantly betrayed. Our biggest goal is to usher in a BJP government in the city. We must free Delhi from the unrest and problems created by the AAP government .Only after this, the desire to make Delhi the developed capital of a developed India will be realised,” he stressed.
Further strengthening his attack, the Prime Minister said the AAP was only focusing on building the 'sheeshmahal'or the Chief Minister's bungalow, and not on the development of the poor.
“Earlier, they took an oath to work. But the people of Delhi saw the 'sheeshmahal'. 'Aap-da' cheated people in the name of healthcare and did not allow implementation of Ayushman Bharat programs in the city. They are even ahead of Congress. It took Congress seven decades to destroy Delhi, but AAP did it in seven months,” he claimed.
Further targeting the city government for its failure to provide basic needs like water to people, PM Modi said “alcohol is available but not water”.
“The BJP will run a massive campaign to ensure that drinking water reaches everyone once it is voted to power here,” he said.
The Prime Minister also urged residents of the national capital to come out in large numbers to exercise their right to vote on polling day, despite the cold weather.
To guarantee the middle class a comfortable standard of living, the government spends large sums. “We have fulfilled the aspirations of the middle class in Delhi,” PM Modi added.
The Prime Minister also noted that thousands of families in Delhi consisted of central government employees and pensioners, and asserted that the 8th Pay Commission would change their plight.
