In the Toshakhana 2 case, Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, failed to obtain immediate relief from the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Justice Raja Inam Amin Munhas heard the pleas for acquittal filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife. The court issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), seeking response to the applications by January 28.

During the hearing, defense lawyers for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi requested that the case be transferred to another court. Lawyer Salman Safdar argued that Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb had already dealt with five petitions related to the Toshakhana 2 case. He suggested referring the acquittal petitions to the same court for consistency.

Justice Raja Inam Amin Munhas clarified that the case in question involved applications for acquittal and not applications for bail. He said the current bench would proceed to hear the case on merits.

Salman Safdar, representing Imran Khan, also sought an order to stay the trial in the Toshakhana 2 case. However, Justice Raja Inam Amin Munhas noted that there was no legal precedent to stop the criminal proceedings at this stage. Instead, the court decided to issue opinions and hear arguments from both sides before announcing its decision.
