IHC serves notices on applications for acquittal of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday served notices to the respondents and sought comments on the pleas for acquittal of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana-II case. The IHC bench, comprising Justice Inam Amin Minhas, heard the defendants' appeals against the trial court's verdict. During the proceedings, the petitioners' counsel, advocate Salman Safdar, said the prosecution contended that a gift was received and given for assessment of its value.

He added that it also needs to be seen whether the memorandum of the Toshakhana Politburo is also a law or not. The lawyer requested that the trial court be ordered to halt the proceedings until the final verdict on acquittal.
