New Delhi, January 24 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reiterated the government's commitment to continue to empower the girl child and ensure a wide range of opportunities for them.

He said the government was focusing on various sectors to empower the girl child. “Our government has focused on sectors such as education, technology, skills, healthcare, etc., which have contributed to the empowerment of the girl child. We are also determined to ensure that no discrimination happens against little girls,” PM Modi added in his message.
National Day of the Girl Child, celebrated annually on January 24, is an important occasion dedicated to highlighting the rights, education and well-being of girls.
