If the police have targeted prolific criminals and the courts have pronounced stronger sentences, we could lock these people longer and reduce crime rates.
This is what a common sense justice system would do.
But instead, Starmer plots to eliminate short prison terms later this year, which means that less of these prolific delinquents will go to prison.
