PM Modi Toasts Maurice President during the lunch of the national day

Port Louis [Mauritius]March 11 (Ani): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the celebrations of the National Day of Mauritius as a chief guest, highlighting solid diplomatic and cultural links between India and Mauritius, said an official press release from the Ministry of External Affairs.
During a special lunch organized by the president of Maurice Dharambeer Gokhool, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for warm hospitality and reaffirmed India's commitment to the lasting relationship between the two nations.
“It is once again my privilege of attending the celebrations of the National Day of Mauritius as main guest,” said Prime Minister Modi. “I take my great gratitude to the honorable president for this warm hospitality and this honor. It is not only an opportunity for a meal but a symbol of the dynamic and narrow links between India and Mauritius.”
He also emphasized the deeply rooted links between the two countries, noting: “The Mauritian plateau is not only rich in flavors, but also reflects the diverse social fabric of the country.
Prime Minister Modi has expressed his best wishes to President Gokhool and his wife, declaring: “On this occasion, I answer my best wishes for excellent health and well-being of His Excellency, the continuous president, prosperity and happiness of the inhabitants of the population of Maourice; and from the company of India to our enduring relationship.”
Earlier in the day, despite strong precipitation, the contingents of Mauritius and the Indian navy carried out a complete dress rehearsal to the champion of March before the 57th celebrations of the National Day of Mauritius. A member of the Indian contingent, speaking to Ani, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying: “We all feel very proud to represent our country here, and yes, we are impatient to have an excellent walk after tomorrow. (We are) a peloton of sailors and officers of the Indian Navy.”
During his stay in Mauritius from March 10 to 14, Ins Imphal will participate in various bilateral commitments, including training, cultural programs and sporting events. An exclusive joint economic surveillance mission (EEZ) and a naval exercise with Maurice Coast Guard (MCGS) is also planned, strengthening maritime security cooperation. (Ani)
