Beirut: Israel confirmed the release of five Lebanese detainees held by his soldiers, the Israeli media reported on Tuesday, citing the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Reports in southern Lebanon indicate that Israel currently has 11 Lebanese citizens seven members of Hezbollah, three civilians and a soldier.

Earlier Monday, the Lebanese army command announced that the Israeli army captured Lebanese soldier Ziad Shibli on the southern border after communication with him was lost.

It was later revealed that the Israeli forces shot him while he was in civilian clothes on the outskirts of the border town of Kfarchouba. The soldier was later injured and transferred to occupied Palestinian territories.

Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty persist, a military drone targeting a vehicle on the road between the cities of Romin and Wadi al-Zahrani in the heart of southern Lebanon. Another drone killed an official in Hamas on February 17 in Saida Mohammed Chahine.

On March 4, an Israeli drone killed Khodr Hachem, a Hezbollah official, who held the position of commander of the naval forces of the Hezbollahs Radwan unit, according to Israeli complaints.

As part of the efforts to accelerate the Southern Israeli withdrawal, President Nabih Berri met the ambassadors of the Quintette Committee.

After the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa said that the discussion focused on the importance of the South Israeli withdrawal.

He added: The Quintet Committee is currently working on the creation of a formula that leads to the full Israeli withdrawal.

The diplomat said they had not discussed the details of the cessation of hostilities, but focused on the importance of Israeli withdrawal.

He declared that Berri had confirmed his commitment to implement the ministerial declaration and the oath.
