The two leaders met on Wednesday and discussed bilateral links, exploring means to further strengthen their special link.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that India was proud to be a trusted partner in Mauritius' development, and that the two nations will work together to support the world South.
Later, he attended a banquet organized by Prime Minister Maurice Navin Ramgolam. Speaking during the event, Modi underlined the strong link between the two countries and their commitment to regional peace and prosperity.
In a historic decision, Mauritius' PM announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored by the country's highest price, the big commander of the Star Order and the Indian Ocean Key. He is the first Indian to receive the honor.
