IS Donald Trump Chinas worse nightmare or a dream come true? He is at the same time, but not to an equal measure. In the short term, his approach to trade -led trade will cause problems for Beijing. However, in just a few weeks, he did more damage to the liberal international order, the cohesion of the Democratic West and the global position of the USS, than all the efforts combined to undermine them in the entire Cold War. It goes beyond the wildest dreams that the leaders of Chinas could have had.

The rates already withdrawn are quite serious, and Beijing can only see them as an increasingly future warning sign to come. Unlike his first mandate, Trump seems ready to say the threats he makes. With the economy of the Chinese already failed, an intensified trade war is the last thing Beijing needs, despite the bravado of his diplomats.

But prices and even a full -fledged trade war represent a short and medium term challenge. Xi Jinping will order China to stay quickly, so she will. The price to pay will be high. But it will be more than compensated by the gifts that Trump involuntarily presents Xi, especially in the longer term.

Above all, Trump allowed China to accuse the United States of hypocrisy. Beijing can now say that the United States has revealed its true nature and will use the liberal international order to put America first. It is therefore an international order which is unfit in the 21st century, which requires fundamental changes. This corresponds to the global XIS strategy to a T.

While XIS 'efforts to persuade the world South to embrace China's push to transform the way in which the United Nations had only made slow progress, they have now been turbocharged by Trump. With the poorest and weakest in the world South who are starting to suffer from the American humanitarian aid Cup, the Call of Chinas to democratize international relations is gaining ground day by day. No one has made the Chinese case better than Trump.

By putting America first, Trump did more than Xi never managed to make China again big. Xis China Dream has not yet become reality, but with the help of Trumps, it made a big leap forward.
