Speculations were widespread about Bhumi Pednekar playing the main female role in this project. Now, new reports suggest that the film, first on Netflix, should start filming in April.

A source close to the project revealed to HT City that the streaming platform intends to make the official announcement first on the film directed by Imran Khan and Bhumi Pednekar. “The platform wants to make the first announcement themselves. Bhumi Pednekar is locked for the main role with Imran. The pre-production work is in full swing, and the cameras run in a month,” said the source.

Earlier, in a conversation with India Today Digital, filmmaker Danish Aslam alluded to a possible project with Break Ke Baad actor, but remained tight on details. Recognizing the media buzz, he said: “A part is true, a game is not. Unfortunately, it is a project that is always a work in progress. So, the moment when things are locked and fall in place, we will announce very happily in the world. But, all I can say is that I work with Imran Khan.”

While discussing the resurgence of romantic comedies, the Danish also confirmed that he was working on a new project with Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, on the labor front, Bhumi Pednekar was seen for the last time in the simple husband Ki Biwi, who struck the cinemas on February 21, 2025. The film featured Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Aditya Seal, Dino Morea and Harsh Gujral outside Bhumi. The film follows the character of Arjun caught in a love triangle between his ex-wife, played by Bhumi, and his fiancé, represented by Rakul.

On the other hand, Imran Khan entered Bollywood with Jaane Tu Yaane Na (2008), who became a kick at the box office.
