Ramgoam announced the granting of his greatest civil honor, the great commander of the Etoile order and the key to the Indian Ocean, on Modi. This prestigious distinction marks Modi as the first Indian and only the fifth global recipient of the prize, recognizing its contributions to the strengthening of Indian-Maurities.

Earlier in the day, Modi was received at the airport by Ramgolam, which was joined by the Deputy Prime Minister, chief judge of Mauritius, president of the National Assembly, Opposition Head, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of the Cabinet, President of the Council of the Grand Port district and 200 dignitaries.

During the meeting with President Gokhool, the two leaders exchanged opinions on the deepening of special and narrow bilateral links.

In a special gesture, Modis has given Oci cards to President Gokhool and the First Lady Vrinda Gokhool, as well as Ramgolam and his wife Veena.

He offered Sangam Holy Sangam water from Mahakumbh in a brass and copper pot to President Gokhool. He also offered Makhana, a superfood for Bihar, Gokhool.

The Prime Minister presented a Banarasi silk sari in a Sadeli box to the wife of President Gokhool.

After the talks, President Gokhool organized a state lunch in honor of the Prime Minister.

Modi also visited the Ayurveda garden in the State House, established in collaboration with the government of India. The Prime Minister noted that Mauritius is an important partner for India to advance the advantages of traditional medicine, including Ayurveda.

It is commendable that an Ayurvedic garden has been built in the state house in Mauritius. I am also happy that Ayurveda is gaining popularity in Mauritius. President Dharambeer Gokhool and I went to the Ayurvedic garden, giving me the opportunity to see him from the first hand, said Modi on X.

Before meeting President Gokhool, Modi and Ramgolam planted a young tree in the Botanical Garden of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoalam.

Modi posed a crown at the samadhi of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoam, the founding father of Maurice. He also posed a crown at the Samadhi of Anerood Jugnauth.

I went to the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoalam botanical garden with Prime Minister Dr Navinchandra Ramgoam. It is a beautiful botanical garden, a living archive of biodiversity which illustrates the conservation efforts of Mauritius and the botanical heritage, he said.

Tribute to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgolam and Sir Anerood Jugnauth, two major leaders who have made indelible contributions to Maurice Progress, he said in another article.

For India, the growing imprint of Chinas in the Indian Ocean region has been a concern, and it wants to work closely with island countries like Maurice. Mauritius notably faced the devastating cyclone Chido last year, affecting in particular Agalega. India has managed to mobilize its naval assets and use the installations created in Agalega to provide assistance and rescue equipment.

The two parties plan to move on defense and maritime security and are likely to sign a technical agreement on the sharing of information on whites between the Indian navy and the authorities of Mauritius. It will also improve Mauritius' maritime security, the security of its trading corridors and will improve regional cooperation in the sharing of data in real time.

An Indian naval ship will launch a port of Port to Port Louis to celebrate the opportunity of Modi as the main guest of the Mauritius National Day celebrations. A contingent of the Indian navy as well as a helicopter of the Indian Navy, an Akash Ganga of the IAF parachuting team and a team of CCN cadets will also participate in the celebration.
