Poland positively assesses the results of the first stage of talks between Ukraine, USA Tusk

Poland insists on the need to establish a just peace in Ukraine and positively assesses the results of the meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia, said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a joint declaration with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“On the question of Ukraine and Russia, the position of Poland is clear, it has been known since the first days of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Like Turkey, Poland wants a cease-fire and peace as soon as possible. The results of the first stage of negotiations which ended in Saudi Arabia between our American and Ukrainian friends.

He noted that even if negotiations are accompanied by emotions and disputes, a cease-fire, and thereafter peace, remain the objective of Ukraine, the United States and their allies.

“The only question mark today remains the reaction of Russia. Today, Ankara, Warsaw, kyiv, Washington, Brussels, we are all waiting for a clear answer. The other party is ready to take this proposal for a cease-fire and new peace talks seriously? We hope very much,” noted the Prime Minister.

He also invited the Turkish side to join the regulation process in the region.

“I made an unambiguous proposal to President Erdogan that Turkey has assured as much co-responsibility as possible for the peace process, the guarantee of stability and security throughout our region.
