Hendri Kampai: Make sure justice for everyone, President Prabowo needs an evaluation of the PSN in the era of the Jokowi regime

Government – National Strategic Project (PSN) is an initiative carried out by the government in order to accelerate the development of infrastructure and to encourage national economic growth. This program has become the backbone of various sectors, including transport, energy and housing, in order to create a development balance throughout Indonesia.

However, in its implementation, the PSN often arouses criticism, in particular linked to the social and environmental impacts caused. With the end of the management's era of Joko Widodo and the change in national leadership in Prabowo Suubianto, a request emerged that the new government has carried out a complete evaluation of the PSN considered to be oppressive.

Negative impact of the PSN on the company
Certain major infrastructure projects under the aegis of the PSN have triggered controversy because they are considered to be prioritized macroeconomic interests in the well-being of young people. Here are some of the negative impacts that must be the concern of the Prabowo government:

1. Forced expulsion and loss of livelihoods: One of the main problems of implementation of the PSN is the expulsion of land which often do not pay attention to the rights of the affected community. Many residents have lost their residences and their livelihoods due to major projects such as the construction of toll roads, dams and industrial fields. In some cases, the compensation given is not comparable to the losses suffered by the affected community, thus aggravating social inequalities.

2. Environmental damage and loss of living space: The development of large -scale infrastructure often ignores the aspects of environmental sustainability. A cleaning of massive land for PSN projects caused deforestation, water pollution and damage to ecosystems that lead to ecological disasters such as floods and landslides. This does not only harm the environment, but also threatens the lives of people who depend on natural resources.

3. Lack of public participation in planning:One of the main weaknesses of the PSN is the lack of community involvement in the planning and decision -making process. Project decisions are often taken from top to bottom without sufficient consultation with direct affected communities. Consequently, many projects that really lead to social conflicts, both between the government and the citizens, and between the citizens themselves have different interests.

4. Médication of power and conflict of interests: In some cases, the PSN actually becomes a tool for certain groups in order to draw personal gain. Infrastructure projects funded by large budgets are often fertile land for corruption and nepotism practices, where projects are given to companies that have close relations with certain officials. This also aggravates social inequalities and harms the principle of justice in development.

Assessment opportunities in the Prabowo government
As a new leader, Prabowo Subaianto has a great opportunity to reform the PSN to be more favorable to the people. Here are some strategic steps that can be taken to ensure that the PSN really brings advantages to the community in the broad sense:

1. Examine problematic projects: The government must carry out a complete audit of PSN projects that have been executed and identify which projects have the potential to harm the community. If a violation of the rights of citizens is found, it is necessary to examine land acquisition policies and a more equitable allowance for affected people.

2. Prioritize sustainable development: The Prabowo government must ensure that the development of infrastructure not only prioritizes economic growth, but also environmental sustainability. PSN projects must be designed by considering ecological aspects, such as the use of renewable energies and the reduction of negative impacts on ecosystems.

3. Increase public participation: For development policies to be more inclusive, the new government must strengthen the public participation mechanism in PSN planning. The affected residents must have space to transmit their aspirations, both through a consultation forum, a public hearing and a fair legal mechanism.

4. Transparency and responsibility in budget management: To avoid corruption practices and conflicts of interest, the Prabowo government must tighten the supervision of the management of the PSN budget. Transparency mechanisms such as independent audits, data disclosure and supervision of civil society institutions must be reinforced so that the development of infrastructure really offers optimal advantages to the community.

5. Develop infrastructure in favor of small people: The objective of the development of infrastructure must go from headlight projects to infrastructure which has a more direct impact on the well-being of young people. For example, instead of building projects that only benefit from elite groups, the government can invest more in village infrastructure, school construction, hospitals, as well as to increase access to electricity and clean water in remote areas.

The assessment of the National Strategic Project (PSN) becomes an urgent need for the Prabowo Suda government so that the development project is no longer a means of oppression of young people. The Government must balance economic growth and social justice by ensuring that each infrastructure project really offers advantages to the community in the broad sense, not only for a handful of economic and political elites. With appropriate reforms, the PSN can be an inclusive, sustainable and side development instrument in the well-being of the Indonesian people.

If the Prabowo government is able to take strategic measures to assess and improve the PSN, the advanced and fair vision of Indonesia can be carried out. However, if the old approach that ignores the interests of the people is still maintained, social conflicts and inequalities will continue, inhibiting development which should be a tool to improve the well-being of the nation.
