Fawad Chaudhry wants political forces to resolve the issue of Balutchistan

Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry said the establishment had not resolved the issue of Balutchistan and should now give it to political forces.

Addressing the media of the High Court of Lahore (LHC), Fawad Chaudhry stressed that the current crisis in Balutchistan is one of the largest tragedies in the country, with 120 disappeared. He stressed that Balutchistan was not part of any political party and was under the control of the establishment for an extended period.

Chaudhry also suggested that the establishment should give up control of the Balutchistan issue and return it to political parties.

He also called for President Asif Ali Zardari to convene an all-party conference, guaranteeing the participation of the founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, declaring that the conference could not succeed without its involvement.

“Balutchistan is not under the control of the political party – it has been in the hands of the establishment for a long time. Since they could not solve his problems, it is time to return it to political leadership, “he said.

Chaudhry urged President Asif Ali Zardari to summon an all-party conference to combat the Balutchistan crisis.

He stressed that the main opposition figure in Pakistan should be authorized to participate, saying: “Without the opposition chief, such a conference will have meaning.”

He also called the main political leaders – including Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Zardari and the opposition chief – to meet and assume joint responsibility for solving the problems of Balutchistan.

“The whole nation must unite. If we do not act now, the situation could become uncontrollable, “he warned.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry appeared before the business court related to the May 9 riots. A bench of two members of the High Court of Lahore heard petitions concerning four separate cases deposited against him in Faisalabad.

His lawyers argued that he had not received copies of the additional accusations or evidence, which, according to them, were a violation of the legal procedure.

The court issued opinions to all parties and ordered the court of first instance to submit files by March 20.
