Wilan explained, currently, the auction process of the two longest toll roads in Java and Bali is still at the Directorate General for Infrastructure Financing (DJPI) before the auctions were carried out in the near future.

He gave an example, one of which is the Bekasi – Cawang – Kampung Melayu (Beakayu) toll road to the Yogyakarta – Bawen toll road whose land acquisition process is still in progress.

“The Gilimanuk-Mengwi toll route is revoked from the PSN does not mean stopping, not being pessimistic, a lot of development takes place without PSN,” Koster explained during a coordination meeting with the regents/mayors in Bali on Wednesday (3/3/2025).

The current state of the Gilimanuk-Mengwi motorway, according to him, could not accommodate the density of vehicles and damaged roads causing many accidents.

As follow -up, Koster will meet the Minister of Transport on March 17, 2025 to discuss the financing program for the toll project with the central government, it is always possible to use the APBN program for the acquisition of land. If he is released by the central government, Koster said he would work on the acquisition of land from the APBD of the provincial government and Regency / City.

Koster will invite the regents / mayors to Bali to driving jointly in the construction of the Gilimanuk-Mengwi toll road, in particular the reema / cities which have large APBDs such as Denpasar, Badung.

Never get investors

The government has repeatedly organized an auction, but it has always failed. The Getaci toll consists of 4 sections namely section 1 GEDEBAGE junction – North Garut (45.20 km), section 2 North Garut – Tasikmalaya (50.32 km), section 3 Tasikmalaya – Patiman (76.78 km) and section 4 Patimuan – Cilacap (34.35 km).

However, given the costs that will be necessary, the government favors the construction of the Getaci toll road only to the Ciamis, which is only 108.3 km long.
