The Turkish President extends Ramadan's greetings to the Turks, Muslims in Europe

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan transmitted his greetings in Ramadan to Turks and Muslims in Europe on Saturday during an IFTAR program organized by the Union of International Democrats (UID) in Cologne, Germany.
He spoke to participants in the quick meal via a call made by Hulusi Akar, president of the National Defense Committee of the Turkish Parliament.
He expressed his wishes for Ramadan to bring blessings and unity to the Muslim world, praying for peace and solidarity.
Akar highlighted the importance of the Turkish community in Germany, highlighting their contributions to the development of Türkiye and Germany.
He said Ankara gives priority to diplomacy and peaceful solutions, but that it remains resolved in the protection of its national rights and interests in the midst of global tensions.
Referring to the conflicts of the Gaza Strip and Ukraine, Akar criticized the silence of the international community on Israeli actions and reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to justice.
Since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump in January, the United States has been actively involved in efforts to resolve the war in Ukraine which has been taking place for more than three years, engaging in interviews with Kyiv and Moscow.
Akar praised the Palestinians for their resistance and stressed that any forced displacement of Gaza is unacceptable.
The program followed the Consul General of Türkiye in Cologne, UID officials and representatives of various organizations.
The first phase of a ceasefire agreement in three phases, which lasted six weeks, ended in early March. Israel, however, refused to carry out the second phase, which was to include additional prisoners with Hamas.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blocked negotiations, seeking to extend the initial cease-fire period without respecting military and humanitarian commitments under the agreement.
Hamas has reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire and urged the mediators to enforce the conformity of Israel and to advance negotiations.
Israeli attacks have killed more than 48,500 Palestinians, most women and children have left Gaza in ruins since October 2023.
