He also recalled his visit to the White House, where Trump personally broke the protocol to tour him. “He personally took me visiting the White House,” said Prime Minister Modi, stressing that despite not meeting in person for years, their communication and their confidence remained strong.
Prime Minister Modi also spoke of Trump's humility, recalling how he chose to sit among the public during the event “Howdy Modi” rather than maintaining a presidential distance. “This is his humility,” he said. He also discussed Trump's past comment that Modi was a better negotiator, attributing him to Trump's grace. “He has a clear roadmap in his mind with well -defined stages, each designed to lead him to his objectives,” reiterated the Prime Minister, adding that his own approach to negotiations has always prioritized the interests of India.
The Prime Minister reflected the challenges that the leaders face and the sacrifices required in public life. He mentioned how political figures often become targets of attacks but must remain attached to their vision of their nations.
“My family was subjected to implacable attacks and threats, motivated only by a desire to hurt me-the worst kind of partisan policy,” he said, echoing Trump's own experiences with political opposition.
