President Donald Trump changes the cultural zeitgeist so much that even HBO's successful show “The White Lotus” noticed a recent episode.

In a scene from the new season of the show, three friends meet for dinner in a beautiful but strange complex in Thailand. One of the characters, Kate, lives in Austin, Texas. His friends live in New York and Los Angeles. Friends, who assume that Kate is a democrat, asks her if it is “weird” to be around a bunch of “biblical thumbers” Texanes who voted for Trump. Friends are clearly surprised to learn that Kate and her husband frequent the church every week with “nice people” who “have very good families”. They are even more shocked to learn that their friend is an “independent” and her republican husband.

Fans of the show enthusiastically debated the scene on social networks. He struck a nerve with me and many others because he captured the political and cultural moment. Many of us have had similar conversations since the elections.

Axios reported that the Democrats at Congress are undergoing intense pressure from their supporters to fight Trump, but that their party has trouble understanding how to fight the conservative machine that Trump has created.

However, the more the progressives raging, the more desperate they sound.

The scene “The White Lotus” is underlined by a question that I hear the progressives asking every day: have you really voted for it?

The answer, of course, is that we voted for it, and we would do it again.
